Patrick Dennehy, above right, attends his final class at Baylor. It was the last day anyone confirmed seeing him. Melissa Kethley, the ex-wife of teammate Carlton Dotson, above left, told Waco police that Dotson visited her in Sulphur Springs, Tex., while driving Dennehy's SUV that day.
Dennehy's mother and stepfather report him missing to the Waco police.
Dennehy's SUV is found in the parking lot of a Virginia Beach shopping center, stripped of its license plates.
Dotson speaks with a detective and FBI agent in Maryland
at the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office. Police do
not charge him.
Police charge Dotson with Dennehy's murder and take him into custody in Maryland.
A badly decomposed body is found near a rock quarry and identified two days later as that of Dennehy.
Dennehy's death, from a pair of gunshots
to the head, is ruled a homicide.
Dennehy is buried in San Jose. His mother, Valorie, is pictured.

Catching prosecutors by surprise, Dotson enters a guilty plea to Dennehy's murder, five days before the case was to go to trial.

Dotson is sentenced to 35 years in prison.
