What Pharmacies Are For

Monday, June 23, 2008

I found the June 16 front- page article "Pro-Life Drugstores Market Beliefs" to be extremely alarming.

The idea that a pharmacy can establish policies to ignore or disregard the expert advice of a doctor simply to pursue a political agenda is disturbing at the least and downright dangerous in the extreme.

These "pro-life" pharmacists should reflect on the primary role of their profession as described by the Labor Department: distribute prescription drugs to individuals and advise on side effects.

Pharmacies should let churches do the preaching.
