Yesterday: A look at the origins, successes and failures of the Arabic-language television network al-Hurra, centerpiece of the U.S. government's propaganda efforts in its war against terrorism and its campaign to spread democracy in the Middle East.

Today: An examination of al-Qaeda's online propaganda campaign, which as recently as 2005 was seriously ailing but is now a disciplined operation, able to communicate constantly, securely and in many languages with loyalists and potential recruits worldwide.
