Barack Obama is on a weeklong patriotism tour, trying to reassure voters about his commitment to the country. Obama says his own patriotism has been questioned for the first time during this campaign.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA (D), ILLINOIS: Thank you so much.
Well, it is good to be in Independence, Missouri. And I want to begin by expressing my deep gratitude to Vince Gunther (ph), not only for his wonderful introduction, but more importantly for his service to our country.
Please give Vince a big round of applause.
