Loudoun

Hillsboro Celebration: Barbecue dinners and bake sale items can be purchased, or you can bring a picnic dinner. There will be free ice cream after dinner. The Hewn from the Mountain band will perform. There will be carnival games and raffles. The events will start at 5 p.m. Saturday and end with fireworks at the Old Stone School, 37098 Charlestown Pike. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket. http://www.hillsborova.org.

Lovettsville Independence Day: A parade from Lovettsville Community Center, 57 E. Broad Way, to Lovettsville Elementary School, 49 S. Loudoun St., at 5:30 p.m. today. Amusements, pony rides, moon bounce, face painting, nine-hole mini golf, Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers, a local dance troupe and food vendors will be available from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Community Center. In advance, $3; at the door, $4; children 2 and younger, free. The fireworks display will be at 9:15 p.m. Parking will be at the Lovettsville Community Park. Sterling Independence Day Celebration: The swimming pool will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Music, carnival activities and food for purchase will offered from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. at the Sterling Park Golf, Tennis and Swim Club, 333 S. Ida Lee Celebration: A parade down King Street will start at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Ida Lee Park, 50 Ida Lee Dr., Leesburg, and head to Fairfax and South King streets. The Reverend Hookems band and Marna and Macy will perform beginning at 7 p.m. at Ida Lee Park; gates open at 6 p.m. There will be a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Food will be available for purchase. Purcellville Celebration: The Pride of Purcellville parade will start at noon tomorrow at Emerick Elementary School, 440 S. Nursery Ave., and end at Loudoun Valley High School, 340 N. Middleburg Independence Day: The swimming pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, Middleburg Community Center, 300 W. Washington St. $3. Round Hill Celebration: A parade down Evening Star Drive will start at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at Woodgrove Park and head to East Loudoun Street, ending at the Town Park. There will be music by contemporary folk artist Tomy Wright, accompanied by Brooke Robbins. Arts and craft activities for children will be offered, and ice cream will be available for purchase from the Round Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Free. 540-338-7878. http://www.roundhillva.org.

Old-Fashioned Fourth: A festival from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow in Sterling will feature nature activities, crafts, face-painting, pony rides, hayrides, games, tours of Lanesville Ordinary and a reptile show at Claude Moore Park, 21544 Old Vestal's Gap Rd. Enter the park at Loudoun Park Lane. Food will be available for purchase. $5 a carload. 571-258-3700.

Fauquier

Great Meadow: The gates will open at 4 p.m. tomorrow for a celebration featuring music by the Bluemont Concert Series at 5 p.m. and fireworks, pony rides, petting farm, rock-climbing wall, face painting, games, model rocket launches, giant-scale radio-controlled planes, rescue helicopters, a blimp and a polo match. Food will be available for purchase, or pack a picnic dinner. There will be fireworks at dusk. Great Meadow events center, 5089 Old Tavern Rd., The Plains. Warrenton Fourth: A parade for children and pets will start at 10 a.m. tomorrow on Main Street in historic Old Town Warrenton. Pets must have current rabies tags attached to collars and be leashed. No motorized vehicles will be permitted. Balloons and decorations for wagons, bikes and scooters will be available while supplies last. Lineup begins at 9:30 a.m. on Main and Fifth streets. The Fauquier Community Band will provide patriotic entertainment on the courthouse steps after the parade. Sponsored by the Partnership for Warrenton. Free. 540-349-8606.
