With Felipe López playing shortstop and Ronnie Belliard subbing at second base, Cristian Guzmán, who leads the team in games played, received a rare day off, just his third this season. Given Guzmán's injury history -- he appeared in only 46 games total in 2006 and 2007 -- his dependability feels almost like a form of compensation, Manager Manny Acta said. "He's not going to ask for days off," Acta said. "I'm extremely pleased the way he has handled himself in taking care of himself and being able to go out there every day. He wants to be out there, and I don't blame him -- he lost a lot of time."
