If you're heading to the shore for some sun, sand and surf, don't forget to check out the fireworks. Displays over the ocean are particularly awwwww-inspiring. (Note: All activities are today.)

BETHANY BEACH

The Bethany Beach Parade kicks off at noon from Garfield Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue. This year's theme is "Pride, Tradition and Dedication" in honor of the Bethany Beach Patrol. Fireworks will be set off over the ocean starting at dusk. For more information, call 302-539-8011 or go to http://www.townofbethanybeach.com.

OCEAN CITY

There are two celebrations depending on which end of the beach you prefer. The uptown celebration is at Northside Park, 127th Street and the bay. Activities for the whole family start at noon. Fireworks will be shot off at 9:30 p.m. Downtown festivities are at North Division Street and the beach, starting with a concert by the U.S. Navy Band at 8 p.m. and fireworks over the ocean at 9:30. For more information, call 410-250-0125 or go to http://www.ococean.com.

REHOBOTH BEACH

Join more than 80,000 people to watch fireworks launched from the beach and visible from Rehoboth Avenue all the way up the boardwalk. Expect the sky to light up starting about 9:15 p.m. After the fireworks, there will be a concert by the Funsters at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand. For more information, call 302-227-2772 or go to http://www.rehomain.com.

VIRGINIA BEACH

From Beatles and Stones tribute bands to the Virginia Beach Symphony, music is as much part of the Fourth here as fireworks. Free concerts start at 7 p.m. at a variety of stages, but Synchronicity and the Virginia Beach Chorale perform at a special stage on 20th Street at 8 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from a barge off 20th Street at 9:30 and can be seen from anywhere along the boardwalk.
