(HealthDay News) -- Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure used to remove fat deposits from certain parts of the body.
Before deciding to have this elective procedure, it's important to note that liposuction doesn't always meet a patient's expectations, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says. Here are possible shortcomings:
You will have scars from the procedure. Typically, they are small and fade with time, but some people have larger, more noticeable scarring.Just after the procedure, the area may appear bumpy or wavy.Your physical changes may not be as significant or dramatic as you expected. Also they may not be permanent, as fat deposits could return.Liposuction is not a replacement for a healthy diet and regular exercise.
