An earlier version of one of these briefs incorrectly identified John Langford Eubank Sr., 80, as the driver of a Ford Ranger that struck a Honda Accord in Gaithersburg last week. Eubank, who died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, was driving the Honda. Authorities identified the driver of the Ford as Marco A. Ekonomo Martinez of Germantown. The brief also incorrectly said the victim's name was John Langford Eubank Jr.

Man Robbed Helping Another
A good Samaritan stopped to check on a man lying in a street south of Alexandria early Thursday and was robbed at gunpoint by the man and a partner, Fairfax County police said.
The attack occurred about 2 a.m., when the Alexandria area victim, 41, got out of his car in the 2200 block of Huntington Avenue to help the man in the street, police said. The other robber, armed with a handgun, jumped the victim, who handed over his cash and was kicked in the stomach by one of the assailants, police said.
The assailants got into a car driven by a third man, and the car headed toward Telegraph Road. The victim was taken to Inova Alexandria Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
