An earlier version of one of these briefs incorrectly identified John Langford Eubank Sr., 80, as the driver of a Ford Ranger that struck a Honda Accord in Gaithersburg last week. Eubank, who died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, was driving the Honda. Authorities identified the driver of the Ford as Marco A. Ekonomo Martinez of Germantown. The brief also incorrectly said the victim's name was John Langford Eubank Jr.

Woman Killed in Crash Identified
A 60-year-old woman who died Thursday after her car crashed into a backyard deck has been identified by police as Isaura Justina Mateo of Germantown.
Mateo, who lived in the 20000 block of Dunstable Court, died after her 1994 Subaru Legacy station wagon crashed into a deck attached to a house in the 19700 block of Maycrest Way about 4:40 p.m.
Mateo lost control of her vehicle as she fled from the scene of an earlier accident with a gray 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, police said. The sport-utility vehicle's driver was following her at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
