"Detroit, you hold what one's been seeking,/Holding off the coward-armies weakling/Always rising from the ashes/not returning to the earth," White wrote in the 66-line poem.
Frontman of the White Stripes and a member of the Raconteurs, White told the Associated Press that the Motor City's music community was "super-negative" when he moved to Nashville in 2006. In June, he told Rolling Stone, "I couldn't breathe anymore in that scene."
White, 32, offered his poesy to express his real "feelings about the city itself, and how strong I believe it to be," the Free Press reported.
