I need phonetic help with the Freixenet label. I have asked dozens of people, and not one person is sure how to pronounce this wine. My thanks will be forthcoming when I purchase the above correctly.

Freixenet account supervisor Jennifer Zimmer at Janet Kafka & Associates was happy to confirm the answer to this oft-asked question about the Spanish sparkling wine. "The name of the winery is pronounced 'fresh-eh-NET,' " she stated in a recent e-mail.

She went on to explain, "It is named after the Ferrer family's first homestead, 'La Freixeneda,' which is Catalan for 'ash tree grove.' "
