Annual Plein Air Easton Arts Competition and Festival

The fourth annual week-long arts competition and exhibition brings artists, musicians, collectors and spectators to the historic streets of downtown Easton. Artists set up easels throughout the town and paint outdoor scenes while bands perform. Activities include gallery shows, lectures, art demonstrations, chamber music and outdoor theater. Highlights

Plein Air Painting Demonstration

Artist Lee Boynton will give a demonstration on plein-air painting. Boynton is the founder and president of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. 1-3 p.m. July 25. Tidewater Inn patio, 101 E. Dover St. Free.

Collectors' Party

This gala offers guests a first viewing and buying opportunity for paintings created during the week. 7-9 p.m. July 25. Academy Art Museum, 106 South St. $150.

Gallery Exhibit and Sale

Paintings from the participating artists will be available for purchase. 9 a.m.-9 p.m. July 26 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. July 27. Academy Art Museum, 106 South St. Free admission.

Quick Draw

Painters compete in a judged timed-drawing competition and then sell their works. There will be a children's quick draw for ages 5 to 12 to show off their plein-air painting skills. Performance at Easton's weekend farmers market. Parking lot on North Harrison Street, north of Goldsborough Street. Free.
