PERSONNEL DEPT.
Athletics: Activated SS Bobby Crosby from the disabled list and moved LHP Dallas Braden into their starting rotation.
Blue Jays: RHP Shaun Marcum (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day DL to start Tuesday's game at Baltimore.
Rangers: Hank Blalock was activated from the DL and returned to his original position of third base. Blalock had been scheduled to switch to first base when he returned from the DL.
Rays: Reliever Al Reyes, who had been out since June 10 because of right shoulder tendinitis, was activated from the 15-day DL. . . .
Closer Troy Percival, sidelined since July 1 because of a left hamstring strain, was scheduled to be re-examined last night. . . .
SS Jason Bartlett, out with a right knee strain, might be back early next week. . . .
Royals: OF José Guillén was out of the lineup last night against the White Sox because of back spasms.
Twins: IF Nick Punto was scheduled to have a cortisone shot in his strained left ring finger. Manager Ron Gardenhire said Punto would sit out the next two games to see how it takes.
White Sox: RHP Bobby Jenks was activated from the 15-day DL and declared himself ready to return to the closer's role. Jenks went on the DL on July 9 with bursitis near his left (non-pitching) shoulder.
Yankees:1B Richie Sexson finalized his contract with New York and was immediately plugged into the starting lineup last night.
