The Nigeria-based newspaper Thisday presents Africa Rising, a celebration of African culture that promotes finding sustainable solutions to the continent's problems. The star-studded fashion and music festival will showcase runway regulars Alek Wek, Tyson Beckford and Liya Kebede modeling the creations of such designers as Chris Aire, Momo and Deola Sagoe, whose lively piece is shown at right. Grammy winners Jay-Z and John Legend are slated to headline the event, which is the third stop on the festival's four-city international tour.
