For the third time this month a D.C. United match at RFK Stadium has been halted or postponed because of a storm or electrical problems [Sports, July 24].

The facility is 47 years old. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the D.C. Sports & Entertainment Commission are on record as supporting the plan to keep D.C. United in the District with a new soccer stadium.

The time is now for the mayor, the D.C. Council and United's owners to get this deal done and put an end to the embarrassing situation of having our team playing on the field while the stadium crumbles around them.
