PERSONNEL DEPT.

Since arriving in Class AAA Columbus, 2B Emilio Bonifacio, acquired last week in a trade with Arizona for closer Jon Rauch, has proven to be "exactly what we thought we were trading for," GM Jim Bowden said. Bonifacio's fast start includes seven hits in his first 12 at-bats along with six runs scored and three walks. Still, those numbers haven't yet opened the door to the big leagues. Bowden said Washington won't promote Bonifacio until he will have the opportunity to play every day.
