Outlook
If the scuffling Nationals hope to break their recent funk, a three-game series against the Reds might be a nice opportunity to at least make some forward progress. The Reds, who come to town tonight, are almost as inept at the plate as the Nationals, who might be able to scratch out some victories even if they don't end their offensive drought. Washington ranks last in most important National League batting categories. Entering last night, the Reds were 14th in batting average (.249) and total hits (918) and 11th in runs (476).
