PERSONNEL DEPT.
SS Cristian Guzmán, trying to recover from a left thumb injury, will rejoin the starting lineup today, ending an almost two-week absence. Another shortstop, Alberto González, will probably need a few more days to recover from his left glut injury; the team does not believe a trip to the disabled list will be necessary. . . . Just more than a week remains for the Nationals to sign first-round draft pick Aaron Crow, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Missouri.
