It's time that the Maryland Transportation Authority eliminate two-way traffic on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I was astonished to read that "in 70 percent of fatal crashes since 1952, two-way traffic was being employed on the bridge at the time of the fatal crash" [front page, Aug. 11].
The MTA needs to put safety first. Who would want to drive across the bridge when two-way traffic is in use and speeds are often in excess of 65 mph?
Enough is enough! Drivers deserve the right to travel across the bridge without risking their lives.
