WISCONSIN AND CORDELL AVENUES, Aug. 5. A male followed a female and exposed himself. A man, 45, of no fixed address was arrested.
WEAPONS OFFENSEROCKHURST RD.,6300 block, July 29. Police executing a search warrant recovered several firearms, ammunition and chemicals that could be used to make explosives. A man, 18, and a Gaithersburg boy, 17, were arrested.
ASSAULTSWISCONSIN AVE.,7400 block, 1 a.m. Aug. 2. A man on an escalator at a train station bumped a male from behind. When the male turned around, the man stabbed him with a knife. The assailant and a female turned around and walked back down the escalator.
CARJACKINGROCKVILLE PIKE,11300 block, 11:45 a.m. July 29. A man in a parking lot of a retail store accosted a male, knocked him to the ground and took his keys. The assailant got into the male's vehicle but was unable to start it. A man, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking.

WEAPONS OFFENSETHAYER AVE.,800 block, 6:22 p.m. Aug. 3. A loud banging noise was heard in a hallway of an apartment building. Bullet holes were found in a stairwell door. Police suspect three men.
CARJACKINGSGEORGIA AND THAYER AVENUES,5 to 6 a.m. Aug. 3. Two males got out of a red sport-utility vehicle and accosted a male driver. One of the assailants pulled out a gun and demanded the driver's vehicle. When the driver tried to flee, one male struck him, and the other stabbed him with a knife. The driver escaped in his SUV.
SPRINGVALE RD.,8500 block, 4:18 p.m. Aug. 3. Two men in a parking lot accosted a female driver and demanded her keys. When she refused, one of the assailants pulled out a handgun. The driver tossed her keys into the trunk and closed it, and the assailants fled on foot empty-handed.
ASSAULTSCOLESVILLE RD.,8700 block, 9:42 p.m. July 30. A man and a male acquaintance accosted a male pedestrian, threatened him with a knife and beat him with a baseball bat. The pedestrian escaped. A man, 20, was arrested.
KILKENNY ST.,3200 block, 1:30 a.m. Aug. 3. A man with a handgun assaulted a male pedestrian. When the pedestrian fled, the assailant chased and shot him.
OLIVE BRANCH DR.,3500 block, 12:23 a.m. Aug. 2. A female was assaulted by an acquaintance.
ROBBERIESANGLETON TERR.,14200 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 3. Two males and a female accosted a male pedestrian and demanded cash. The pedestrian ran away but was chased and struck with an unknown object. The assailants searched his pockets but fled empty-handed.
CASTLE BLVD.,13800 block, 1 a.m. Aug. 1. Six males stopped a pedestrian carrying a suitcase and asked him for change. When the pedestrian ignored them, he was punched and his suitcase was taken.
COLESVILLE RD.,8700 block, 2 to 2:30 p.m. July 30. A man entered a bank, presented a note to a teller and demanded money. The robber fled after obtaining some cash. A man, 29, of no fixed address turned himself in to police Aug. 3 and was charged with bank robbery.
EAST WEST HWY.,1400 block, 5:38 p.m. July 30. Three men in a parking lot met a male acquaintance at the rear of a drug store. They threatened him with a razor, ordered him to empty his pockets, took his property and fled.
EASTERN AVE.,7100 block, 7:02 p.m. Aug. 2. Three men in a parking lot of an inn robbed several people of cash at gunpoint. One of the assailants took a female's purse. The men fled in a white Jeep.
GEORGIA AVE.,7900 block, 9:45 p.m. July 30. Two men in a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant followed a person, threatened him with a knife, took property and fled.
GEORGIA AVE.,7900 block, 10 to 10:12 p.m. Aug. 1. Two men accosted a male pedestrian, took cash from the pedestrian's pockets and fled.
LEIGHTON AVE.,400 block, 10:51 a.m. July 31. Four males near a bus stop accosted a male who got off a bus. The assailants demanded cash and shot the male with a BB gun but fled empty-handed.
NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,9200 block, 5:31 a.m. Aug. 2. A man called out to a female pedestrian, grabbed and punched her, took her purse and fled.
NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,10900 block, 1:55 p.m. July 29. A male accosted a female driver after got out of her vehicle, grabbed her purse and fled.
NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,11200 block, 5:10 p.m. Aug. 3. Three males in a parking lot of a department store accosted a male, knocked him down and kicked him, took cash and fled.

SEPTEMBER LN.,9100 block, 10:21 p.m. July 31. Two men accosted a male pedestrian and robbed him of property at gunpoint.
STEWART LN.,11600 block, noon to 1 p.m. July 28. Two men at an apartment threatened several acquaintances with a knife, robbed them of cash and fled in a newer-model silver Toyota or Honda.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSBRIGGS CHANEY AREA, July 28 to July 30. Five vehicles were entered by force. In one incident, a man was seen tampering with a car; the owner later discovered that all four tires missing.

CHERRY HILL RD.,11400 block, 2:11 a.m. July 31. An alarm sounded at a market during an attempted break-in. It was not known whether entry was gained.

WINDJAMMER WAY,1800 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2. During a dispute, a man was stabbed in the forearm. A person was arrested.
ROBBERIESALMADEN PL.,1:15 a.m. Aug. 1. Two people accosted a man making a food delivery, took the food and cash and fled. The deliveryman was unharmed.

ROUTE 355,5 to 5:45 p.m. July 30. Four men on a Metro bus headed from the Shady Grove Metro station to the Germantown depot began talking rudely and struck a male passenger in the face and took his property. Two of the assailants were carrying a knife and a firearm.

ASSAULTSMAPLE AVE.,7500 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 8. A man was arrested on an open warrant in a second-degree assault and false imprisonment.
MAPLE AVE.,7600 block, 12:50 p.m. Aug. 10. A woman was arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with an incident in which a relative was threatened with a knife.
ROBBERIESPOPLAR AVE.,6600 block, 11:32 p.m. Aug. 10. A man in a car followed a male driver. When the driver parked the car, the man approached, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. The assailant fled in a waiting vehicle.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSBOSTON AVE.,600 block, 8:30 p.m. Aug. 10 to 9:25 a.m. Aug. 11. An attempt was made to enter a vehicle.
CARROLL AVE.,7000 block, 4:30 to 5 p.m., Aug. 9. A man who said he was a maintenance employee entered an apartment, took property and fled.
CEDAR AVE.,7100 block, midnight Aug. 8. Property was stolen from a vehicle. The property was later recovered. A suspect has been identified.
CIRLE AVE.,400 block, 11 a.m. Aug. 3 to 10:15 a.m. Aug. 13. Property was stolen from a vehicle.
FLOWER AVE.,7600 block, 5 to 10:15 a.m. Aug. 13. Property was stolen from a residence at a college.
FLOWER AVE.,8000 block, 12:52 to 5:33 a.m. Aug. 13. A cleaning business was entered by force. An attempt was made to take property.
PINEY BRANCH RD.,7500 block, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 10. Property was stolen from a vehicle.
UNIVERSITY BLVD.,1300 block, 4:22 p.m. Aug. 8. A man took five CDs from a business and attempted to sell them outside the store. A man was arrested and charged with shoplifting and theft.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTSETHAN ALLEN AVE.,400 block, 10 p.m. Aug. 10 to 7 a.m. Aug. 11. A 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.
HODGES LANE,200 block, 1:47 a.m. Aug. 14. An attempt was made to steal a 1999 Dodge Caravan van.
KANSAS LN.,6500 block, July 18. A Takoma Park employee was arrested on charges that include two counts of theft of more than $500, motor vehicle theft and unauthorized removal.
MANOR CIR., unit to 100 block, 8 a.m. Aug. 9 to 4 a.m. Aug. 11. A 1991 Acura Integra was stolen. Police in East Brunswick, N.J., recovered the vehicle Aug. 12.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,6300 block 4:19 p.m. Aug. 12. A man was arrested and charged with stealing a motor vehicle, theft of more than $500 and possession of drug paraphernalia.
NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,7400 block 10 p.m. Aug. 7 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 8. A 1997 Plymouth Voyager was stolen.
