There have been 1,119 executions carried out since the Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976. Of those, seven have been of people who were not directly involved in the actual murder or were not the instigators of a contract killing.

The shooter is serving a life sentence but is eligible for parole.

Deauford WhiteFla.Aug. 18, 1987Stood guard while two men entered a house looking for drugs and killed the occupants. The two killers were executed.

Tex.Nov. 12, 1991Participated in a robbery at a house where one of his accomplices shot the homeowner. The shooter was executed and the other accomplice was given a life sentence.
Williams AndrewsUtahJuly 30, 1992Took part in a robbery and torture, but his accomplice killed the victims after he left. The accomplice was executed.
Carlos SantanaTex.April 23, 1993Accomplice to a robbery in which his partner killed a security guard. The partner was executed.
Gregory ResnoverInd.Dec. 8, 1994A police officer was killed trying to arrest Resnover and another man. Both fired shots at the officer, but the other man was found guilty of firing the fatal shots. He was executed.
Steven HatchOkla.Aug. 9, 1996Hatch and co-defendant Glen Ake participated in a home invasion. After abusing the family of four for several hours, Hatch went to his car, while Ake shot the family, killing the parents. Ake is serving a life sentence.
