Teams Listed with 2007 record and ranking:

1. Quince Orchard, 14-0, 1

Four top college prospects are back for a team that won by an average margin of 23 points en route to the Maryland 4A title.

2. DeMatha, 10-2, 4

QB Tom Chroniger (Eastern Michigan) is one of the few returning starters for the WCAC five-time defending champions.

3. Good Counsel,10-2, 8

All-Met LB Jelani Jenkins leads a tough defense and joins Maryland recruit Caleb Porzel in one of the area's top backfields.

4. Dunbar, 10-3, 14

QB Tyree White and WR Deon Long try to lead the D.C. public school powerhouse to its ninth Turkey Bowl title in 11 years.

5. Stone Bridge, 14-1, 6

Many top college recruits return from last season's team that won its final 13 games to capture the Virginia AAA Division 5 title.

6. Oakto,n 5-5, NR

With 16 returning starters, the 2005 Virginia AAA Division 6 champions could be gearing up for another Northern Region run.

7. Eleanor Roosevelt, 5-5, NR

After a forfeit-filled 2007 that included a single one-point loss on the field, the Raiders are eager to bounce back.

8. River Hill, 14-0, 3

The Hawks return the nucleus of last year's Maryland 2A champion, including senior RBs Michael Campanaro and Malek Redd.

9. St. John's (D.C.), 8-3, 10

The Cadets must find new set of skill players, but boast an offensive line led by mammoth T Pete White.

10. West Springfield, 10-3, 17

The Spartans bring back 16 starters from the Northern Region Division 6 runner-up team that averaged 35.5 ppg.

11. Douglas,s 8-3, NR

With 17 returning starters, including hard-hitting LB Davon Bridges, the Eagles have their sights set on a deep playoff run.

12. Suitland, 12-1, 9

No starters are back on offense, but the defense, led by LB John Darr, should key a team that is 25-2 the past two seasons.

13. Brooke Point, 9-2, NR

The Black-Hawks could have their best team yet with 2,000-yard rusher Chase Barnett and TE-DE Lanford Collins, a top prospect.

14. Woodbridge, 9-5, 15

The Vikings could be even better than last season's Virginia AAA Division 6 finalist with the return of senior RB De'Antwan Williams.

15. Westfield, 15-0, 2

The Bulldogs are 69-6 the past six seasons with two state titles, but they lost 48 seniors from last year's squad.

16. C.H. Flowers, 4-6, NR

The defense shut out five opponents last season and features top LBs Lorne Goree (Maryland) and Brandon Killebrew.

17. Sherando, 13-1, 12

QB Ross Metheny (Virginia) passed for 2,207 yards and 24 TDs last season en route to the Virginia AA Division 4 final.

18. Seneca Valley, 9-3, NR

QB George Lerch tries to lead one of the area's most consistent programs to nine victories for the 17th time in 19 seasons.

19. Chantilly, 8-3, NR

The Chargers play in the tough Concorde District, whose members have reached the past eight Virginia AAA Division 6 finals.

20. Linganore, 9-2, 19

The Lancers' prolific offense features OL Robbie Havenstein (6-7, 325) leading the way for RB Pat Balderson.
