So Kanye West did not disappoint: He showed up in Denver last night as promised, and he actually played a full one-hour show for a ONE Campaign/RIAA party early this a.m. It happens that he took the stage more than a full hour after anyone expected him to start playing -- but in a way, you know, that's exactly what we expected.

And, oh my god, EEEEeeeeeeeeagh! He brought Jamie Foxx out to sing "Gold Digger."

The only way in which West arguably disappointed was his utter failure to say anything particularly inflammatory or nutso during his 10-song set. He didn't even seem to follow any issue-advocacy talking points, except maybe for that freestylin' interlude to backbeat of "Flashing Lights" in which he rhymed "the loss of my momma" and "years of drama" with "at least we got Obama." A cheer erupted in the packed room of about 2,500 politicos and political junkies, including, Forest Whitaker, Adrian Fenty and Kirsten Dunst, who looked to be in a world of her own as she gyrated with downcast eyes.
