Battlefield senior running back Adrian Ingram rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns and junior quarterback Bo Revell threw for 156 yards and a score as the visiting Bobcats cruised past Potomac (Va.), 41-0, last night in an important Virginia AAA nondistrict matchup.
Battlefield (1-0) snapped fellow Prince William County foe Potomac's 17-game regular season winning streak and beat the Panthers (0-1) for the first time. Potomac, last year's Virginia AAA Division 5 runner-up, managed 110 total yards.
The Bobcats took a 34-0 lead with 37 seconds left in the second quarter when Revell found wide receiver Matt Plum for a 29-yard touchdown. Battlefield, which made the playoffs last year and lost only to Potomac during the regular season, returned 30 seniors this year.
"I'm tickled pink the way they're excited about playing," Battlefield Coach Mark Cox said. "They know not to take anyone lightly."
