The Nationals removed two relief pitchers, Chris Schroder and Brian Sanches, from their 40-man roster yesterday in order to clear space for September call-ups. Both Schroder, 30, and Sanches, 30, currently with Class AAA Columbus, had big league stints this season. Sanches appeared in 12 games (7.36 ERA) and Schroder, who also pitched for Washington in 2006 and 2007, appeared in four games (5.40 ERA). Both pitchers will remain with Columbus.THE NEXT THREE
