New plays are the raison d'etre ofCharter Theatre, which will offer three full-length works this season at Theatre on the Run in Arlington.
The solo piece "This Perfect World" (Sept. 18-Oct. 12), by company member Chris Stezin, is about a man whose life and business seem to be in crisis, and his living room under water. Jason Lott will star and John Vreeke direct.
Old friends look back at their lives and secrets in "Quartet" (Jan. 9-Feb. 8) by Richard Washer. Leslie Kobylinsky will direct.
"Fat Gay Jew" (April 30-May 23) by Mario Baldessari is a comedy about bigotry and slurs, in the tradition of previous Charter shows by the same team, including "Sacred Cows" and "Fear Itself." Artistic Director Keith Bridges will direct Renee Calarco, Jim Helein and Baldessari.
