PERSONNEL DEPT.
In a tight spot last night, LHP Mike Hinckley made his major league debut. Hinckley entered the game with Washington trailing 4-0, runners on first and third, and Chase Utley up. But Hinckley got Utley to ground into a double play -- one that started with a putout of Utley at first and ended with Jimmy Rollins caught in a rundown between first and second. Hinckley stayed on for a scoreless eighth, and finished the night with 1 2/3 innings pitched and no hits.
