The GOP is revising the Day 3 convention schedule, having lost much of Day 1 to concern over Hurricane Gustav. Vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is scheduled as the headline speaker tonight, and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani is likely to make an appearance in prime time. Broadcast networks ABC, CBS and NBC tune in for the major speeches at 10 p.m., and here is a sampling of ways to tune in all day long:
PBS: Jim Lehrer is expected to return to St. Paul tomorrow for a special "NewsHour" broadcast that starts at 8 p.m. and runs until the convention events end.
CNN:"American Morning" begins at 6 a.m., featuring John Roberts from the convention. Soledad O'Brien hosts starting at 9 a.m.; Wolf Blitzer takes over with "The Situation Room" at 4 p.m. Larry King is still in New Orleans for a midnight edition of "Larry King Live."
Fox News Channel:"Fox & Friends" starts the day at 5 a.m., and Shepard Smith returns to live convention coverage at 3 p.m. on "Studio B" and at 7 p.m. on "Fox Report." During prime time, "The O'Reilly Factor" (8 p.m.) and "Hannity & Colmes" (9 p.m.) are live as well.
MSNBC: At 6 a.m. "Morning Joe" telecasts live from St. Paul. David Gregory anchors "Race for the White House" at 6 p.m. Chris Matthews anchors the evening coverage starting at 7 p.m.
CN8:"It's Your Call With Lynn Doyle" starts at 8 p.m. and talks with Sen. John Ensign (Nev.), and former New Jersey governors Tom Kean and Christine Whitman.
C-SPAN: The channel is live from St. Paul until the closing gavel, starting with "Washington Journal" at 7 a.m.
CNBC: John Harwood is live throughout the day with dispatches from the convention, including at 7 p.m. during a live "Kudlow &Company."
Networks: Meredith Vieira is on "Today" from St. Paul at 7 a.m. on Channel 4; Katie Couric reports live from St. Paul during the "CBS Evening News" on Channel 9; Maria Menounos is on the scene with "Access Hollywood" on Channel 4 at 7:30 p.m.; and Brian Williams anchors the prime-time coverage. On Channel 7, a Charles Gibson interview with John McCain will air on "World News" at 6:30 p.m. and "Nightline" at 11:35.
