ORVILLE AND WILBUR WRIGHT MAY HAVE made their famous first flight in North Carolina, but Fort Myer is just as important in aviation history. It has been 100 years since the Army entered into a contract with the Wright brothers to test their flyer at Fort Myer. Celebrate the centennial at the fort on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a flyover, a reproduction of the 1908 flyer, demonstrations, displays, music and family activities.
