Tonight, news anchors Katie Couric, Brian Williams and Charles Gibson join a slate of A-list stars for "Stand Up to Cancer" (at 8 on Channels 4, 7 and 9), an hour-long fundraiser. Lance Armstrong and Christina Applegate are scheduled to appear; Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood and Miley Cyrus are among those who will perform the campaign's theme song, "Just Stand Up"; and actress Dana Delany will have a televised mammogram and basketball star Charles Barkley, a colonoscopy.

You may recognize Jamie Chung, star of "Samurai Girl" (ABC Family at 8), from "The Real World: San Diego" on MTV, but the hard-core character in this three-night miniseries bears no resemblance to Chung's former hard-partying ways. Chung plays Heaven, an adopted Japanese heiress who learns a shocking family secret on her wedding day.

"Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (Channel 5 at 8) starts its third season with supermodel Kathy Ireland taking on a group of know-it-all 10-year-olds.

In honor of the reigning Super Bowl champions, and the need to plug NBC's fall lineup, "NFL Opening Kickoff 2008" (Channel 4 at 9) offers an NBC-star-studded concert from New York, including performances by Keith Urban and Usher.

CBS also works to get viewers excited for new shows with the "CBS Fall Preview" (Channel 9 at 9).

On the second-season premiere of "DogTown" (National Geographic at 9), experts help four traumatized pit bulls that were part of Michael Vick's dogfighting ring.

"Monk" (USA at 9) turns 100 -- episodes, that is, and celebrates with a flurry of guest stars including Eric McCormack, Sarah Silverman and Andy Richter.

The neighborhood drama seemingly cools off with Trina and Tom's end-of-summer party on "Swingtown" (Channel 9 at 10).

Who says work can't be fun? On "Psych" (USA at 10), Juliet must join a roller-derby team to help solve a crime.

Actress Eva Mendes, Chris Matthews and musical group Shinedown visit "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" (Channel 4, 11:35).

"Late Show With David Letterman" (Channel 9, 11:35) talks to actors John Malkovich and Hayden Panettiere, and Steve Earle performs.

Actor Jerry O'Connell and Stuff White People Like blogger Christian Lander appear on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" (Channel 4, 12:35).
