A doctor in Alexandria was arrested last month after allegedly sexually assaulting one of his patients, Alexandria police said today.

Police said in a news release that a 32-year-old man had contacted them in August and reported that his doctor, Antonio Ramada, had "performed an act of sodomy on him" during an appointment at Ramada's office, at 6000 Stevenson Ave. Court records indicate the incident occurred Aug. 18.

Ramada was arrested Aug. 27 and charged with non-forcible sodomy, according to court records. Ramada, 48, who lives in Annandale, is free on bond pending a preliminary hearing next month. He did not return a phone call today seeking comment.

Alexandria police also did not return calls today seeking comment on the case .
