1 Man Might Be Behind Assaults
D.C. police said one man might be responsible for at least five incidents in which women in or near Georgetown were accosted or sexually assaulted in their homes since January, each by an early-morning intruder.
Georgetown University issued a warning to students about the latest incident, in which a student living off campus awoke early Friday and found a man in her bed. After groping her, officials said, the man fled.
That incident occurred in the 3700 block of R Street NW, the same block where a similar incident was reported Jan. 13. Police said similar intrusions occurred May 16 in the 2400 block of Huidekoper Place NW, June 1 in the 1900 block of 38th Street NW and June 26 in the 2400 block of Tunlaw Road NW.
