CONNECTICUT AVE. AND BEACH DR.,7:45 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 2. A man under a bridge at Rock Creek Park ran up to a female jogger on a footpath, grabbed her and dragged her into the woods. The man assaulted and raped her and fled. Unable to find a motorist to assist her, the woman walked home and was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for trauma to the face, neck and shoulders as well as the sexual assault. INDECENT EXPOSURESTONESTREET AVE. N,200 block, 9:10 a.m. Aug. 19. A man standing next to a dumpster outside a day shelter exposed his penis to a person and began to masturbate.
ASSAULTSCEDAR LANE,300 block, 1:01 a.m. Aug. 22. Two sisters got into a dispute that turned physical. One of the girls swung a knife at her sister and caused a small cut. A girl was arrested nearby.
ROBBERIESASHLEY DR.,11400 block, 1:27 a.m. Aug. 22. Four men robbed a person and an acquaintance and fled.
CRABBS BRANCH WAY,15700 block, 11:50 p.m. Aug. 25. A man beat a male driver who had gone underneath his vehicle to check for car trouble. The assailant took $5 and a pack of cigarettes and fled.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSALLEN FORD CIRCLE AREA, Aug. 20 to Aug. 23. Property was stolen from three garages at residences entered by forcing open the garage doors.
ATLANTIC AVE.,13000 block, 9:20 a.m. to 7:35 p.m. Aug. 20. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.
BALD CYPRESS DR.,10000 block, midnight to 2 a.m. Aug. 18. A man took a garage door opener from an unlocked vehicle parked on the street, opened the garage door and entered the residence. He took property and fled. Some of the property was found nearby.
BALTIMORE RD.,2200 block, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25 to 7:30 a.m. Aug. 26. Several traffic cones in a parking lot were stolen, and orange and white paint was used to draw swastikas and "seniors 08" on signs in the parking lot.
BENNION RD.,4400 block, 2 to 2:20 p.m. Aug. 24. Two males took property from a vehicle with the windows rolled down at a residence. The car owner was working in his back yard when the theft occurred.
CLAVEL ST.,14900 block, 5 p.m. Aug. 24 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 25. A vehicle was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

CROYDON AVE.,200 block, 6:03 a.m. Aug. 24. A man tried to enter a residence by force but was interrupted when a resident saw him and called police. A homeless man, 18, was arrested nearby. He had a screwdriver in his pocket.
EDMONSTON DR. W,200 block, 3 a.m. Aug. 25. A man entered a residence, waking the homeowner's daughter when he entered her bedroom. She yelled, and the man ran out the front door but was caught and held until police arrived. A man, 19, of the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road was arrested.
FENWAY RD. AND FENWAY DR., Aug. 25 to Aug. 26. Property, including a laptop, a drill, hand tools, a purse, a wallet, a digital music player and a backpack, was stolen from three vehicles.

MONROE ST.,700 block, 6:20 p.m. Aug. 18. A boy tried to take a bicycle from an apartment balcony. When a resident heard the noise and went to investigate, he found eight other males outside. The group fled empty-handed.

FIRST ST.,1000 block, 3:41 p.m. Aug. 24. Several people were seen climbing out a side window of an elementary school and fleeing toward the rear of the school. Nothing was reported missing.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTSCALABASH LANE,14100 block, 2:41 a.m. Aug. 22. People trying to steal a 1997 Nissan Quest started backing it down a driveway but struck the homeowner's other vehicle. The robbers fled.
FLOWERFIELD DR.,13500 block, 11 p.m. Aug. 21 to 10:45 a.m. Aug. 26. A 2005 Toyota Matrix was stolen. The car was recovered by the owner the same day on Traville Garden Circle.

CROYDON ST.,100 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 24. A domestic-related assault occurred. A woman got into a dispute with a female. When the female's brother tried to intervene, the woman cut him with a knife. A woman, 26, was arrested.
ERIE AVE.,900 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 19. A male assaulted a female acquaintance, threatened her with a knife and fled.
ROBBERIESCASTLE BLVD., Aug. 19 to Aug. 20. In two incidents, 11 males and three females accosted people -- surrounding, assaulting and robbing them of property, then fleeing. In a third incident, the group accosted, surrounded and assaulted someone, but the person fought back and the assailants fled empty-handed.
EASTERN AVE.,8100 block, 5:55 p.m. Aug. 22. A male approached a woman, asked about an address and snatched her purse before getting into a silver 4-door vehicle occupied by two other males. The woman followed the assailant and tried to retrieve her purse, but one of the males punched her, and the vehicle sped off.
ELLSWORTH DR. AND FENTON S.,8:30 p.m. Aug. 22. A man and two male youths approached several people walking together and demanded cash. One of the assailants searched one of the people, took property and fled.
FEATHERWOOD DR.,12300 block, 12:20 a.m. Aug. 20. Seven males in a parking lot accosted a male pedestrian and struck him with a rock. When the pedestrian approached the group, he was knocked down, punched and kicked, and his keys were taken. The keys were found in the parking lot.
FLOWER AVE. AND PINEY BRANCH RD.,3:50 p.m. Aug. 18. A man accosted someone, pulled out a knife and robbed the person. A man, 26, of no fixed address was arrested in the incident.
HANNES ST.,200 block, 12:04 a.m. Aug. 22. Two men with a gun and a hammer got out of a vehicle and ordered a person to get on the ground. They took property and fled.
LOMBARDY RD.,11000 block, 11:11 p.m. Aug. 25. A male approached a female, grabbed her purse, pushed her to the ground and fled.
PHILADELPHIA AVE.,900 block, 12:05 a.m. Aug. 24. Four males accosted a pedestrian, robbed him of property at gunpoint and fled.
STEWART LANE,11400 block, 11:15 p.m. Aug. 19. A man got into a vehicle in which two people were sitting, placed a gun to the head of one the passengers and ordered him to take off his clothing. A second unarmed person outside the vehicle grabbed one of the passengers' cellphones and fled.
UNIVERSITY BLVD.,700 block, 8:22 to 9:04 p.m. Aug. 20. Two people accosted a pedestrian at knifepoint and demanded property. The pedestrian complied, and the assailants fled. The assailants tried to rob a second pedestrian a short time later but fled when police officers appeared. A man, 24, of no fixed address was arrested.

THAYER AVE.,800 block, 3:10 a.m. Aug. 24. A man tried to enter a residence by breaking a front window and removing screens to talk to the homeowner. A Prince George's man, 48, was arrested in the incident, which police said was domestic-related.

FLACK ST. AND RANDOLPH RD.,12:30 a.m. Aug. 21. Three men assaulted a person at this intersection, took property and fled. An Aspen Hill man, 24, and two Silver Spring men, 18, were arrested.
REEDIE DR.,1800 block, 11:45 p.m. Aug. 25. A male wearing a black bandanna on his face assaulted a person, took property and fled.

SOUTHERN NIGHT LANE,5:30 p.m. Aug. 23. Two people accosted a male pedestrian near basketball courts and threatened him with physical harm if he did not hand over his property. One assailant punched the pedestrian in the face, took property and fled. A Montgomery Village man, 21, was arrested.
SUMMIT DR. N,1 to 100 block, 12:01 a.m. Aug. 24. Four intoxicated males beat a man after an unknown dispute. Four males were arrested.

FIRST ST.,1300 block, 3:14 a.m. Sept. 1. A Waldorf man, 27, was charged with second-degree assault on a police officer, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (hydromorphone), malicious destruction of property, telephone threats and several traffic citations.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSBULLARD CIR.,1 to 100 block, 3:52 a.m. Aug. 28. A residence was entered by breaking a rear basement window. Nothing was reported missing.
DENHAM RD.,400 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 31 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1. A pair of sunglasses was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
HUNGERFORD DR.,600 block, 6 p.m. Aug. 22 to 9:05 a.m. Aug. 25. A computer monitor was stolen from a business entered through an unlocked window.
JEFFERSON ST. E,1600 block, 9:30 a.m. to 6:10 a.m. Aug. 28. Three laptops, a video game console, a camera and a video camera were stolen from an apartment entered by prying a front door.
KING FARM BLVD.,100 block, 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 29. A laptop was stolen from an apartment.
MANNAKEE ST.,1 to 100 block, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29. Sports equipment and clothing were stolen from an unlocked shed at a college.
MARTINS LANE,300 block, 5:10 to 5:15 p.m. Sept. 1. A Germantown man, 18, was arrested and charged with theft.
PASTURE SIDE WAY,100 block, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 29. A video game console, a television, jewelry, two laptops, a camera and a digital music player were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window.
PINEWOOD RD.,500 block, 12:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Aug. 30. A pair of sunglasses, food, DVDs, two purses, cash and makeup were stolen from a vehicle.
ROCKVILLE PIKE,1300 block, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27 to 8 a.m. Aug. 28. Two nail guns were stolen from a construction site.

CARJACKING
EAST WEST HWY.,900 block, 4 a.m. Sept. 2. A male outside a gas station approached a female using a pay phone and asked her for spare change. When the woman said she had none, the male jumped into her vehicle, which had been left running, and drove off. The female was injured when she tried to stop the assailant by grabbing the door handle. A witness said a second assailant, a female, was involved in the incident.
ROBBERIESCOLBY AND CHERRY AVENUES,12:30 a.m. Aug. 30. Two males robbed a female acquaintance of her purse and fled in a black Dodge Intrepid.
EASTERN AVE.,6800 block, 2:50 a.m. Aug. 30. Three males robbed a pedestrian at gunpoint. Two people nearby yelled at the assailants, and the three fled.
HODGES LANE AND CHESTNUT AVE.,3 a.m. Aug. 31. Four males in a vehicle pulled up behind four pedestrians. One male demanded that the pedestrians empty their pockets, and another threatened them with a handgun. The pedestrians complied, and the assailants drove off.
UNIVERSITY BLVD.,1100 block, 12:30 a.m. Aug. 30. Three men at a Metro bus stop got into a verbal altercation with a male waiting for a bus. They chased, kicked and punched the male, took property and fled.
