If these letters are any indicator, do not expect much good cheer at FedEx Field today if the Redskins lose to the Saints.

This Story

Well, it's 2008 and it appears the Redskins have picked up where they left off last year. The quarterback couldn't throw, the receivers couldn't catch, the blockers couldn't block, the runners couldn't run, the pass rushers couldn't rush, the defenders couldn't defend.

We've brought all of that back, plus a whole new dimension: The coach can't coach. His West Coast offense is still on the West Coast. And please don't tell me it was his first game.

Bob Credle, Laurel

Hey Bob, it was Jim Zorn's first game. Give him a break. Let's see how he does over a full season. The Redskins have a number of good players who are capable of producing a winning season, a season that lasts 16 games.

When are all of the so-called Redskins experts going to realize that Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato are not stupid and the whole Gregg Williams, Jim Zorn, Jason Campbell and wide receiver draft are part of an orchestrated plan? Danny wants Bill Cowher when he comes off his two-year vacation. He couldn't hire Williams because he couldn't get rid of him after one year. So Zorn became the place-holder.

Danny and Vinny can't lose. If Zorn bombs, they gave him a chance. If he is successful, look how smart they were hiring him.

Charlie Jurgonis, Alexandria

We'll be watching to see if your "plan" proves true. Also, keep in mind that Cowher may not want to work for the Redskins.

Jason Campbell may not be able to play his best football in a pure West Coast offense. He's a tall QB who moves around reasonably well, but he's no Steve Young. So Zorn must adapt to Campbell's abilities or get himself another starting quarterback. This may be Campbell's last season as starting QB here, as it appears Zorn is determined to install the West Coast offense no matter what.

Eugene Morgan, Wheaton

I'd scrap the West Coast offense. A smart coach designs a system to fit the personnel and this doesn't seem to be the case.

Campbell needs to go and so do Zorn and Cerrato. Would be nice to get rid of the owner, too, but that won't happen. Jason was crowned the quarterback well before he proved himself. He can't see the field, or throw the ball away when in trouble.

John LeClair, Williamsburg

At least you're not criticizing Jason's Taylor's dancing skills.
