More than a week after straining his groin while running down the first base line, Ronnie Belliard is no closer to returning. And the Nationals are all the more certain that Belliard won't be ready to play before the season ends. . . . 1B Dmitri Young has been back with the Nationals for a week now (since returning from the disabled list, where he tried to deal with complications from diabetes), but he still hasn't played. He has spent most of his time in the trainer's room receiving treatment for a quadriceps strain. When the team returns home, Young will be examined by team doctor Ben Shaffer.

Quotable
"Any time you lose a game it's tough, but a 6-1 lead going into the eighth, it hurts a little more."
