A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.
Justice featuring Daft Punk, Kanye West, Diplo, A-Trak: "Fortisphere" (Immuzikation Blend) This is supposed to be a remix/mash-up/whatever of a bunch of great songs you're probably already sick of. But it really sounds like "Stronger" remixed by robots from space, so it's actually pretty good.
Hacienda: "She's Got a Hold on Me" The San Antonio-based Hacienda's debut is filled with swampy-sounding garage rock rave-ups much like this one. It was produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, which you could probably tell by listening to it.
Raphael Saadiq featuring Jay-Z: "Oh Girl"(remix) The new single from Saadiq's old-school R&B disc "The Way I See It" features a turn from Jay-Z, who never misses an opportunity, no matter how awkward, to make every guest appearance about him.
Jenny Lewis: "Acid Tongue" Lewis continues to mine the possibilities of sad, semi-ironic '70s country-rock in the shamelessly awesome title track from her upcoming disc.
The Christian Ramones: "Blitzkrieg Church" From the Department of Things We're Partly Sure Aren't Made Up: A band that converts Ramones classics into instructive Christian rock? Is nothing sacred? Oh, wait.
