Bus Stops, Store Relocate During Metro Project
The Commuter Express Store and bus stops at Metro's Silver Spring Station are moving temporarily during construction of the station's Transit Center.
Renamed TRiPS, the store has moved to 8413 Ramsey Ave. It provides commuter information and will serve as the station's staging area for buses during construction.
On Sept. 28, Ride On and Metro bus stops at the station will relocate to the streets surrounding the store, including Bonifant Street and Wayne and Dixon avenues.

Taste of Gaithersburg Advance Tickets on Sale
Advance tickets are on sale for Taste of Gaithersburg, part of the city's 27th annual Celebrate Gaithersburg street festival Sunday.
Advance tickets are recommended to avoid lines during the festival, which in past years has drawn more than 40,000 people. The festival will also include an arts market, family activities and performances by Gin Blossoms, the Rembrandts, Derek James and Sin Fronteras.
Participating eateries include Aqui Brazilian Coffee, Bruster's Real Ice Cream, the Flaming Pit, Growlers of Gaithersburg, Ledo Pizza-Montgomery Village, the Melting Pot, Ocean Nine, Potomac Pizza, Rainbow African Restaurant, Rita's, Tandoori Nights, My Kitchen, Cazuela Bakery, O'Malley's Pub, Uncle Charlie's Backyard BBQ and Whole Foods Market.
Food samples are valued at one to three tickets, and each ticket costs $1.25. Advance tickets are on sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave.

Rescue Squad Campaigns Door to Door for Funds
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad's 68th annual door-to-door fundraising campaign began this month and will continue through late next month.
The squad raises most of its $1.9 million annual operating budget through the campaign, according to a statement from the group.
Uniformed squad personnel will visit homes in the squad's coverage area, which includes parts of Cabin John, North Bethesda, Potomac, Rockville and Kensington. The volunteers will visit from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and will carry identification. Residents may obtain additional identification verification by calling the squad dispatcher at 301-652-0077.
