Firehouse 'Roughhousing' Results In EMT's Cut Hand, Official Says
A D.C. emergency medical technician was accidentally cut on the hand by a city firefighter in an incident officials described as "roughhousing" Tuesday night at a Georgetown firehouse.
The EMT was taken to Georgetown University Hospital, where he received stitches in his hand. The firefighter was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation of the matter, said department spokesman Alan Etter in an e-mail.
"While this was an accident, we believe the kind of behavior that was described is inappropriate and unsafe in a professional environment," Etter said.
