HOMELESS HOUSING

Ground Is Broken For Apartment Building

D.C. officials attended a groundbreaking for the Dunbar Apartments, which will provide permanent housing for 17 homeless women when the facility opens in 2009.

Open Arms Housing purchased a crumbling apartment building in the unit block of O Street NW in 2001 with almost $2 million in grants and loans.

The funds came from the District government and almost two dozen organizations.
