CF Lastings Milledge has enjoyed some success since taking over as the Nationals' cleanup hitter about a month ago. Milledge, who last night was batting cleanup for the 31st time this season, has only hit two homers as the No. 4 hitter. But his .292 batting average is the best of the four players [Austin Kearns, Nick Johnson, Dmitri Young] who have hit in that spot 30 or more times this season.
QUOTABLE
