FIRST DOWN
Finished Product
After struggling during the preseason and in the season-opening loss to the New York Giants at Giants Stadium, the offense finally got going as the Redskins overcame a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit in the 29-24 Week 2 victory over New Orleans. QB Jason Campbell's clutch performance helped provide the difference, but he must continue to finish games well.
SECOND DOWN
Stay on the Edge
The Saints had 55 yards on 19 rushes (a 2.9-yard average), which pleased Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Blache. Top Cardinals RB Edgerrin James is averaging 3.5 yards per rush and has no gains of more than 13 yards in Arizona's first two games, both victories. Through 18 career games with Arizona, the two-time NFL rushing champion's longest run from scrimmage is 27 yards.
THIRD DOWN
Punting Woes
Rookie punter Durant Brooks's job is on the line after his poor outing against the Saints. Dissatisfied with veteran punter Derrick Frost, the Redskins made the unusual move of drafting a punter, selecting Brooks from Georgia Tech, and then cut Frost before the season. But Brooks can't help Washington if he is easily rattled. He needs to show a lot against the Cardinals.
FOURTH DOWN
Keeping Pace
Arizona WRs Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are considered among the NFL's best tandems, and their statistics support that belief. Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El have heard the talk all week about Boldin and Fitzgerald and are eager to make plays. Moss and Randle El could share punt return duties as well, so they will have chances to impress.
