Woman Admits Buying Son Rifle

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- A woman admitted she bought her troubled, bullied 14-year-old son a rifle with a laser scope and gunpowder, which investigators said he was using to build grenades. They still don't know if she was aware her son was building a weapons cache in preparation for a deadly school attack. Michele Cossey, 46, pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment, which carries a maximum possible prison term of 3 1/2 to 7 years.

Man Admits to 8 Murders in La.

HOUMA, La. -- A man suspected of killing as many as 23 men in southern Louisiana over 10 years pleaded guilty to eight slayings and was sentenced to eight consecutive life terms in prison. Ronald Dominique, 44, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder with Terrebonne Parish officials in a deal to avoid the death penalty.
