Defensive end Jason Taylor was moving better yesterday and appears in good spirits. He took part in some individual drills yesterday and jogged during practice.
Asked if it's too soon for Taylor to play this weekend, Zorn said: "I think that, but I wouldn't say that."
Taylor is wearing what looks like a compression wrap on his left leg and has told coaches he wants to play as soon as possible. The Redskins are not ruling him out for this week.
Taylor had emergency surgery just over a week ago to relieve acute compartment syndrome after being kicked in the calf against Arizona.
He had started 133 straight games before missing Sunday's victory over Dallas. . . .
Rookie wide receiver Malcolm Kelly made it through an entire practice, but his ankle remained heavily taped.
"I was excited about that, and he was excited about that," Zorn said. . . .
Defensive end Andre Carter was excused from practice to tend to a personal issue. Zorn said "hopefully" Carter would be back today, but there's a chance he could be excused from that practice as well.
