Alejandro Moreno scored his career-best ninth goal of the season and the Columbus Crew beat the Los Angeles Galaxy, 1-0, in David Beckham's Crew Stadium debut last night in Columbus, Ohio.
Columbus (16-6-5) solidified its hold on first place in the Eastern Conference. It has an MLS-best 53 points, with eight wins in its last 10 games.
Los Angeles (7-12-8) has the fewest points in MLS.
· TORONTO FC 3, RED BULLS 1: Chad Barrett scored two goals to lift Toronto in East Rutherford, N.J.
Abdus Ibrahim also scored for Toronto (8-12-7), while Dane Richards had the lone goal for the Red Bulls (9-10-8), who dropped their third straight game and lost for the fourth time in five matches.
· REAL SALT LAKE 2, REVOLUTION 2: Steve Ralston and Taylor Twellman each scored a goal in a two-minute stretch to help New England (12-8-7) salvage a tie in Foxborough, Mass.
Javier Morales scored the first goal six minutes into the game and assisted on Andy Williams's goal in the 73rd minute to give Real Salt Lake (9-10-8) a 2-0 lead.
· DYNAMO 3, RAPIDS 1: Brian Ching scored two goals and assisted on another to lead visiting Houston (10-5-10). Conor Casey scored in the sixth minute for Colorado (10-12-4).
