The quarter opened with Jason Campbell's first two completions of the game, both to TE Chris Cooley, which moved the team into field goal range. Three running plays stalled the drive, but Washington got a 41-yard Shaun Suisham field goal. The Eagles bogged down after a 22-yard Greg Lewis catch, and the Redskins went on the move again behind their running backs. The next drive featured five Clinton Portis runs, three Ladell Betts runs and one Portis catch; it ended with a 48-yard Suisham field goal just before the two-minute warning. After the Eagles' first three and out of the game, the Redskins got the ball back on their 18 with 55 seconds on the clock. They attacked immediately with two passes. Three straight completions to Cooley put the ball at the Philadelphia 32, and after a timeout Suisham connected from 50 yards.
