Following Missouri's 52-17 thrashing of Nebraska on Saturday night, Tigers quarterback Chase Daniel called the Cornhuskers "one of the dirtiest teams I've played." He went on to accuse a Nebraska player of spitting on him during pregame warmups but declined to name the Cornhusker.
Yesterday, Nebraska Coach Bo Pelini said he had reviewed tape of the game and found nothing to suggest any of his players were out of line. He also said he would investigate the matter. . . .
Arizona State quarterback Rudy Carpenter was on crutches following a 24-14 loss to California. He said he injured his left ankle but declined to say when or where. He played the entire game and threw for 165 yards and two interceptions. . . .
After sacking Maryland quarterback Chris Turner in the third quarter Saturday night, Virginia linebacker Clint Sintim made an "L" with his arms in the fashion of friend and former teammate Chris Long. With St. Louis in a bye week, Long, a Rams defensive end, attended the Cavaliers' 31-0 upset win. He wore Sintim's jersey, though Sintim did not know how Long found it. "He stole it," Sintim joked. "You figure with all the money he has, he wouldn't steal."
