A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind.

Pete Yorn: "American Blues, Vol. 1" And the Finger on the Zeitgeist Award goes to . . . Pete Yorn? The underrated singer-songwriter/uncanny Eddie Vedder sound-alike addresses the economic downturn on the probable title track of his upcoming disc.

T-Pain featuring Chris Brown: "Freeze" (Nukes Club remix) Autotune enthusiast T-Pain enlists perky youngster Brown for this otherwise unexceptional track, made interesting only by its new Jan Hammer-goes-electro remix.

John Legend featuring Brandy: "Quickly" In what is possibly the most depressing ode to getting busy ever, John Legend tries to make sexy time with Brandy by reasoning that the country is at war and the economy is bad and also, he's possibly dying.

The Notwist: "Boneless" (Panda Bear remix) Panda Bear turns a pleasantly prosaic Notwist track into a sunny, utterly unrecognizable (and probably unintentional) ode to the Mamas & the Papas, complete with random seagull noises.

Sta: "Baker's Dozen" Because people really will remix anything.
