District residents will use Sequoia Voting Systems' AVC Edge and Optech III-P Eagle this November.

The Edge stores voting information in several areas in the machine. A results cartridge holds the record of votes, while the machine also takes pictures of every ballot cast. These "ballot images" are stored in the machine in case a recount is ordered. An event log in the machine marks the time, date and type of all "significant system activity." How to use the AVC Edge (pdf).

The Optech precinct tabulator scans paper ballots and stores the ballot marks on an internal memory card. When polls close, results are printed and also stored on the memory card so that an electronic results transmission is possible. How to use the Optech III-P Eagle (pdf).
