A Silver Spring man, 24, was charged with attempted second-degree rape, third-degree sexual offense, fourth-degree sexual offense, attempted kidnapping and second-degree assault.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTSSETH PL.,300 block, 2:11 a.m. Sept. 30. A Hyattsville man, 22, was arrested and charged with contributing to a minor. A Rockville girl, 16, was arrested and charged with auto theft, forgery and theft in an incident that originated in Frederick.

ASSAULTSETHAN ALLEN AVE.,200 block, 8:10 p.m. Oct. 7. A gray, four-door automobile stopped near a pedestrian. One of three passengers fired a BB gun out a window, and the vehicle sped away. No injuries were reported.
ROBBERIESNEW HAMPSHIRE AVE.,7600 block, 8:46 p.m. Oct. 6. On an open warrant from Anne Arundel County, a man was arrested for robbery, second-degree assault and theft.
UNIVERSITY BLVD.,1:24 a.m. Oct. 7. A man wearing a bandana implied that he had a weapon and took cash from a convenience-store cash register.
THEFTS/BREAK-INSFLOWER AVE.,8600 block, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5. Two males armed with a crowbar and a baseball bat forced their way into a residence, then fled with property.
MAPLE AVE.,7600 block, 5:45 p.m. Oct. 3 to 11:55 a.m. Oct. 5. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

UNIVERSITY BLVD.,1300 block, 11 a.m. to 1:36 p.m. Oct. 8. A purse was stolen from a restroom.
WILDWOOD DR.,7600 block, 3:59 p.m. Oct. 4. A man wearing dark clothing took property from a vehicle and fled in a dark older-model Honda.
WINDING HILL WAY,200 block, 9 a.m. Oct. 6 to 12:10 a.m. Oct. 7. Property was stolen from a residence entered by force.
